Favorite Song from Each Album
I figured that after Precious' post about no one posting, we need some topics to jumpstart conversations. So here's my attempt. :) What's your favorite song from each album and, if you feel so inclined, why? Also, just to keep conversation going, perhaps reply to a song that the person before you posted. (i.e.: I thing that song is great, I don't like that song because, etc. Just be nice!) Here's mine: Little Earthquakes: It's a tie between Precious Things and Silent All These Years. However, since Silent All These Years was my intro song to Tori, it has a little bit of a higher place. I love the piano and the "what if I'm a mermaid in these jeans of his with her name still on it" line. Under the Pink: I love a lot of songs on here, but the winner would have to be Cornflake Girl. The music, the lyrics, it just makes me sing at the top of my lungs! Boys for Pele Again, another hard one, but I'll have to say Putting the Damage On (with Talula a very close second). This song came to me late, but after really listening to it, I just fell in love. I love the brass instruments as well! From the Choirgirl Hotel: Spark. Especially the "How many fates turn around in the overtime" part. Just hands down the best for me To Venus and Back: This album is one I'm recently getting to know (even though I've had it forever!) I'd have to say that Lust is now my favorite on there. Her voice is just so haunting! Strange Little Girls: This is my least favorite album (mainly because i just lover her original work) but my favorite song is Time. Again, I just love the way she sounds. Scarlet's Walk: Well, as you might guess from my SN, I pick Your Cloud here. Beautiful sentiment, love the lyrics. Hooray! Tales of the Librarian: Well, not many original songs, but I like Snow Cherries from France. I fell in love with the title before I even heard the song! Beekeeper: I think I'll have to go with Marys of the Sea here. Again, I just love the lyrics and the idea behind it. Ok, phew. That took a bit more time then I thought! Hope no one minds!

Little Earthquakes: Precious Things absolutely...no getting around it. Under the Pink: Bells for Her...this song is absolute perfection to me. The desconstructed piano was the perfect echo of the brokenness of the relationship. Boys for Pele: Blood Roses followed swiftly by Talula and Voodoo. Blood Roses is quickly becoming my favorite Tori song EVER! I love it so much! From the Choirgirl Hotel: Spark. To Venus and Back: Spring Haze Strange Little Girls: I don't listen to this one much but I really like 97 Bonnie and Clyde just for the weird factor! Scarlet's Walk: This is hard. Pancake, Sweet Sangria and Taxi Ride...I think....yeah...oh but Virginia and Gold Dust....ugh. I can't pick. This is almost as hard for me to pick as Pele. Tales of the Librarian: Well...I will say Sweet Dreams. Beekeeper: Hoochie Woman or The Beekeeper. I really like this cd. Can I add three more categories? Y Kan't Tori Read: I recently discovered this CD and I think I love it! :P Anyway, I like Fayth...this song is so cool she spelled it with a Y B-Side:Siren and Sugar Scarlet's Hidden Treasure: Tombigbee and Bug a Martini :D

Ohhh, This is a good one. Okay here I go: 1) Little Earthquakes - Mother, b/c it reminds me of my mother in a way. We always have to tell her, "Your ride's here". And when she comes home at night sometimes, we leave the light on. Cloud picked SATY, It's also one of my faves. I love how Tori starts off by "Excuse me but can I be you for a while" great opening to this great song. 2)Under The Pink - I'd go with God on this. I love the video and I sometimes wonder about religion and stuff. This song makes me think. Cloud chose "Cornflake Girl" I love this video too. But I feel I've heard this song too many times LOL, I'll never get sick of it or anything, just sometimes need to not hear it for a few days and then I'll get excited when it does come on. :) 3) Boys For Pele - Uhhh, a hard one 'cause there's so many... Well Muhammad My Friend is cool. I love the live version on the WTSF dvd. It's just a great one. However Putting the Damage On is sooo nice. And I almost chose Talula as well. Now that's one video I love of Tori's. 4) Now Choirgirl is 'The Album' for me... I looooooovvvvvvve Raspberry Swirl...(Yay, it's my username) I just love the beat and lyrics. Cloud picked "Spark". This is pretty cool. I like the part that goes "She's addicted to nicotine patches" 5) To Venus & Back - it would be b-twn Concertina & Suede. They're both so good. But if it's one, I guess it'd be Concertina. Again I love the beat. Cloud likes "Lust" I agree Tori's voice is haunting in this song. 6) Strange Little Girls - I love Happiness Is A warm Gun. It almost sounds like she's going to go crazy. Cloud, you like "Time" I guess i'm not too into this one. I don't know why :? Maybe it's just a little too slow for me & Tori's voice is deeper which is different I guess, But I don't know. Maybe I'll give it a listen and try to understand it and we'll see what happens. :?: 7) Scarlet's Walk - I'd say Pick Out Your Cloud too. It's sooo perrrty! And I understand about your SN, look WHAT i DID TO RASPSWIRL... 8) Tales From A Librarian - I love this collection a lot. I like Mary. I know it's been released for a while now, but I was so happy to get it on this album. Snow Cherries is nice. It's still new to me b/c I hardly play this album... I'll pop it in after SLG..( I want to here "Time") 9) The Beekeeper - I love love love Orange Knickers... It's so cute and cuddly. Mary's of the Sea is gooood toooo! I like it b/c it's so relaxing and echo-ish. Uhhhhh, I think I need a nap after all this. What a post! :o

I read all of these and keep thinking: "OH! I LOVE that song too!" haha, so hard to choose. But it's cool to see what everyone picks when they have to. Raspberry Swirl is awesome! I was recently listening to full-blast in my car and realized how much I love the piano at the end. I still haven't heard much from Y Kant Tori Read, but I would love to find it. She played Cool on Your Island at Cleveland and I loved it. I can't believe I forgot B-sides! I think I'd have to pick Cooling and Here. In My Head for those. But there are soooo many that I just love.

Little Earthquakes: Winter is my favorite but Mother is a very close second. Both are hauntingly beautiful. Under The Pink: Cloud On My Tongue. It's very raw and beautiful. I also ADORE Yes Anastasia and Past The Mission. Boys for Pele: Doughnut Song, without a doubt. The most raw song she's written in my opinion...I love the anger and the southern vibe to it. This is my favorite album so I love pretty much every song. Father Lucifer and Little Amsterdam are classics as well. From The Choirgirl Hotel: I actually like She's Your Cocaine the best. Its such an underrated song and I LOOVE it when she screeches "PLEEEEEEASE don't help me with this!". Perfect! Pandora's Aquarium is a close second, followed by Cruel. To Venus and Back: Datura. Amazing. Lust is second for me, then Bliss. Strange Little Girls: Rattlesnakes!! Love it! Scarlet's Walk: Carbon...as you can see from my screen name...is my favorite song. I can relate to it soo much. I also love Virginia, Crazy, A Sorta Fairytale and Pancake. Scarlet's Hidden Treasures: Tombigbee tied with Indian Summer. The Beekeeper: Jamaica Inn!!!...and Barons of Suburbia.
