Ireland
Ok, I've seen on other boards and heard from other Ears with Feet a lot of malice towards the song Ireland. I personally like it. It might sound a little campy or whatever, but I think it's just a fun song, especially if you're driving! I love the last verse especailly about the Jesuit and the Nun. I don't understand why everyone hates it! It's not her best song ever by any means, but I don't think it's deserving of all the hatred. Anyone agree? Disagree? Care to explain the venom? :D

Ok I Have to say that I strongly agree. Out of all the songs on the Beekeeper, I find that this is one of the songs I think about a lot. :) It Is a fun one. I'm Irish and I tend to like everything about Ireland. Maybe i'm just a weirdo :wink: Anyway, I saw all the other posts on other boards as well, and I think it's crazy how many think it's a huge bore, commercial-like, or whatever. At least we like it and Tori must like it too, after all she chose to put it out. :D

Well, the song is pretty cheesy. I don't really like it. 'Drivin' in my saab / on the way to ireland' Way to over-simplify Tori :p If it would've been something alike 'Chasin' my thunders / all the way to Shannon' or sth :p no that last bit was just playing with you.

lol, that could be a good line. :) I don't expect everyone to love it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one! I first listened to the Beekeeper driving from Milwaukee to Minnesota...a nice 5 hour drive. When Ireland came on, it just really lifted my mood...like I said, definitely a driving song. I concur, the line first line does cause some problems: How does one drive from England (or anywhere, for that matter) to Ireland, unless they have one of those Aqua-cars? :) But all that aside, still a bit o' fun.

i like the song it makes me smile. sometimes you just need simplicity.
