Love Poem
Cool breezes sweep across my face
I wake up to see you lying next to me
Safe in your arms, protected from whatever the night may bring
How did I get through the nights before this
The moon smiles down at us
She sees that all is well and right
Then she turns her eye elsewhere
And leaves us alone together, a perfect oxymoron.
Your hand navigates across my skin
Still half-asleep, a kiss on the back of my neck
And then back to dreams that can never compare
To the beauty of our reality.
