I've never shared my poems with anyone...I'm very nervous. "Park Bench" Engraved glimpse A photo in my mind Is projected on slides It hides But tries To change my life You, healthy man You, ill women Gripping yet ripping out his heart Sitting on the park bench Floating into another galaxy Where there is no sickness and weakness You both know that your time is through What do you do but guide each other through Her skin is pale Her bones so frail With a scarf around her head IT is said Without a word IT is heard Two hearts as one But the sun is dim She's so thin The future grim For a skeleton with skin She holds you tight So she can't Slip away Into the gray So much left to say But you just stay On the park bench Breathing in to each other Letting out the pain To gain Some peace A picture snaps in my mind And I find There is true love As I walk away Sad-end with a smile I take a while To reflect A couple so still Have moved me so That now I know True love exists Though she must go And he must stay Somewhere along the way They will twinkle above Two stars over the park bench At which they sit To shine a light upon the sick Thanks, Light

Thank you so much for the positive feedback. I actually feel kind of sick, is that weird? :oops: I feel exposed and that makes me nervous, it's a weird feeling. I always have a wall up. I don't like (or I act like I don't like) people knowing that I feel or that I'm sensative. I guess that is the point to all this, the first step to getting over it! Thanks again.

Trust me, I know that feeling well. I can't share my work with people I know, at least not in person. I get very embarrassed and feel almost like I'm suffocating while I'm waiting for them to finish. I think what helps for me is knowing that I'm just posting on a board and if people don't like it, well, fine, who cares. I won't actually have to see them again. I don't know. It's hard. Writing is so personal and so difficult to share at times. But we're a good group here so don't worry about sharing with us.

All of you are too sweet, thanks. I love the way this board has subjects seperated. The 'creative corner' will be one place that I will probaby spend a lot of my time in. The designer of this board ROCKS! There are so many options for expression and creativity. I'm growing very attached to you fans. All of you are wonderful! Thanks again. Fantastic. I like how in the beginning it is moderately ambiguous as to what you are describing and as you go, the image gets clearer and clearer. As Ian said, you handled the subject matter beautifully. I am severely impressed. I'm glad I tempted you to post this as it is beautiful. :wink: Seriously, please keep sharing.
