Tell me who you can't stand listening to & why...
I was sitting here watching mtv and I have to say that I pretty much hate every song they played today. Except for Gwen Stefani, I just love her from 'No Doubt' and all. Anyways, why is all the music that's popular today so blah? And I can't believe how many people like this crap.lol. I'm sorry if I offended anyone who listens to this stuff but It's all a little alike and way too overplayed. :? So tell me people, what do you hate that's out today and why do you hate this group, song, or artist? :x :o :( :?: :?:

(moved to non-related tori music discussion!) oh and... can't stand ANY rap! and "hollaback girl" gets on my nerves after awhile.

raspswirl- 09-21-2005

Yeah Joe, rap is the worst. It's just a 'c' away from crap. The "Hollaback Girl" video was played beyond the limit. That's what the crappy radio stations and shitty mtv do to a song. :( At least there are other stations to turn to. But when out & about and at work, that's all I hear all day long. Sometimes I'll hear the same song 4 times in a 8hr. shift. Ther's so much different music out there, so what if it's not new shit. It still deserves to be played. Thank God they didn't do this to Tori, and even if they did, I could NEVER get sick of her voice. :) Btw, thanx for moving this post to the non - related section. I must of been smoking the funny stuff again....

FEW TIMES I'VE BEEN AROUND THAT TRACK SO ITS NOT JUST GONNA HAPPEN LIKE THAT!!!! I AIN'T NO HOLLABACK GRRRRL I AIN'T NO HOLLABACK GRRRRRL!!!! I love that song, but my mom yelled at me when I was watching. I was something like, "WHat the hell are you watching? Why are they bumping and grinding? The might as well have sex!" THen I went around singing it and my mom was like, "STOP SINGING THAT!!! I don't want to hear that crap. What are you gonna start grinding to?" I love to bug my mother, Precious

raspswirl- 09-22-2005

That's funny. Tell your mom if she wants to see people having sex, to watch a rap video. :)

Elfje- 09-22-2005

*feeling totally stupid* what's a hollaback girl?

Precious-Earthquakes- 09-22-2005

I think it is a whore. Ya, I am pretty sure that is what it is, cause my really young aunt loves Gwen and told me what it meant, then we sang it through the mall. good times, Precious

Oooh...Pussycat dolls! That song that goes "don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me..." OMG! It's soooo irritating!! I don't watch MTV anymore, but all the other stations here are constantly playing that song. And yeah, hollaback girl rocks

raspswirl- 09-22-2005

Okay, a 'Holla Back' girl is actually someone who doesn't go back to a person that's been talking shit about them. In other words, someone who has been called a bitch or whatever that doesn't confront the person who said things. I guess I am a "Holla Back Girl" b/c if someone's talking shit about me I do confront them and handle my shit. I loved this song but mtv fucked it up for me.

I have to agree with the rap hating. It just bugs me sooo much. And Britney Spears and her ilk annoy me. And a lot of the boy bands. In fact, a lot of music on the radio does. Which is why I mostly listen to CDs now. :) I really need to get an ipod. Anyway, my cousin and I were talking about this awhile ago: it used to be that to make it as a musician, you just had to have some talent. It didn't really matter how you looked because there weren't music videos or anything like that. But with the rise of MTV and the blurring lines between music and television, looks have overtaken talent. Artists can be manufactured (a la boy bands and American Idol), and the record companies have no problem burning out an artist and then dumping them if they can make some money in the process It makes sense. Do you think Bob Dylan would've gotten the recognition he deserved if he had to be judged by his looks??

I was at a disco last night(ya, im only 14). It was a sad teenager one and they played the pussycat dolls and it drove me mad. I dont really hate rap but I wouldnt go and waste my money on an album of it.
